Who we are

Vision

Agrivine is dedicated to scaling climate smart food production and fostering holistic development. We implement projects that empower farmers by improving their capacity, enhancing their production power, and increasing their income levels while addressing ecosystem issues.

These initiatives not only boost local livelihoods but also contribute significantly to food security and the global food supply. By integrating these efforts, we ensure that our approach is not just environmentally sustainable but also economically viable and socially inclusive.

Strategy

Agrivine uses a co-design approach to implement solutions across the agricultural value chain in Africa.

Living Labs

Financial Partnerships

Working with institutions to provide funding and develop innovative financing models for African agriculture.

Policy & Education

Collaborating with policymakers and NGOs to advocate for supportive policies and educate farmers on best practices.

The Challenge

Soaring Food Demand & Africa's Potential

The UN forecasts a 70% rise in food production by 2050. Africa, with vast underutilized land and a young agricultural workforce, has the potential to be a key solution. However, current methods threaten food security with soil degradation, rising temperatures, and emissions. A rapid shift to climate-smart food production across the value chain is crucial.

Our Focus Areas

Food Security

Agrivine champions innovative methods for food production and storage to ensure long-term food availability in Africa and beyond.

  • Sustainable Practices: We promote climate-smart agriculture that strengthens food systems and mitigates the impacts of climate change.
  • Resilient Food Systems: We develop innovative solutions to ensure long-term food security for African communities.

Energy Generation and Access

Agrivine tackles energy challenges by championing a shift towards renewable energy sources and decentralised systems. We focus on:

  • Renewable Energy Deployment: We implement solar, wind, and bioenergy projects, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and promoting clean energy access, especially in underserved regions.
  • Community Ownership: We foster community-based energy solutions, empowering local governance, and ownership of sustainable power sources.
  • Energy Efficiency: We support initiatives that maximise resource utilisation and minimise waste, ensuring even remote communities have access to reliable power.

Sustainable Communities

Empowering communities is at the heart the Agrivine mission. We foster inclusive and sustainable development through:

  • Community Ownership: We actively engage communities in project development, ensuring solutions align with their needs and priorities.
  • Capacity Building: We equip individuals with skills training in areas like sustainable agriculture, climate-smart practices, and solar energy utilisation.
  • Women's Empowerment: We support women in home gardening, organic farming, and the production of local, high-value goods like shea butter and spices, boosting household incomes and fostering economic resilience.
  • Investing in the Future: We collaborate with communities to invest in essential infrastructure, supporting long-term economic growth and stability.

Sustainable Land Management and productivity

Agrivine integrates innovative and sustainable land management practices to increase agricultural productivity while maintaining ecological balance and restoring degraded areas.

  • Identify and Restore Degraded Land: We pinpoint areas needing revitalisation and implement innovative solutions to restore productivity.
  • Integrated Land-Use Planning: We advocate for integrated plans that consider agricultural needs, conservation efforts, and community development.
  • Promote Agroecological Practices: We champion biodiversity and sustainable farming through techniques like agroforestry, fostering a healthier ecosystem and increased yields.
  • Technology: We integrate precision farming and data-driven decision-making for optimised land use and maximised agricultural output.

International Trade for Economic Growth and Development

Agrivine facilitates international trade with a focus on sustainable and equitable practices that drive economic growth and development.

  • Increase Sales: We connect them with new markets and opportunities to expand their reach.
  • Meet Market Demands: Meet Market Demands: We help them adapt their products to meet international quality and safety standards.

Research and Promoting Sustainable growth

Agrivine leverages research and innovation to drive sustainable growth and development, informed by evidence-based policies and practices.

  • Evidence-Based Solutions: We invest in cutting-edge research to develop locally relevant technologies and practices that address both local and global sustainability challenges.
  • Fostering Research Capacity: We collaborate with academic institutions and researchers to strengthen local research capabilities
  • Investing in the Future: We encourage and support student engagement in agricultural research, nurturing the next generation of innovators.

Our Story

Joseph Adeyemi

Co-Founder at Agrivine

Agrivine was founded by a Nigerian native raised in Lagos, and later London - Our founder brings a unique blend of agricultural expertise (developed in Ogun State) and technological experience from multi-million pound projects at big tech firms (Apple, AWS) to tackle African agriculture challenges. With strong experience and results in the commodities trading business across the SADC nations, our founder made a decision to not just trade agricultural products but transform the way the continent produces food. Led by our founder who’s mantra is “life is a team sport” we are passionate about collaborative innovation.
